For someone that knew
nothing of the previous book this couple made waves in, I have to say hell
yeah. I enjoyed every minute of this story. The everything that I went through
to get to the end and still feel that I wanted more. This romance was beautiful
in its strength and courage that required on both parties part
to endure all that they had to get to the point of
still loving the other not mater what was being thrown their
way.
Tessa has tragedy in her
past life and has to live with the pain and memory of it all. The
despair and pain of it all was emotionally draining. She battles it all to find
the courage to move on with life and make something for herself and her life.
Through it all her beauty shines bright to be seen. It goes past the physical. She
exudes the true qualities of a beautiful person inside and out.
Ian, of course, was the
rich, alpha, that demand, pushes, and commands his world. That was until the
light of Tessa enters his world. She captures him within her rays and she
becomes all he can every desire.
I found it all so
beautiful and crafted with much detail paid to the event in and around the two
leading them in the direction that got every ounce of emotion, angst, pain,
depth. All put on paper to consume and become totally completely filled with
all that was Tessa and Ian. I don't know what to say. I do want to get to
the book in which their love story was made so poignant. What's up
next for them? I want more.

BLURB
The long-awaited prequel
to a love story for the ages.
She was the only woman he
wanted…but the only one he couldn’t have
Ian Gregson had been born
into wealth and power – one of the privileged heirs of the top luxury hotel
chain in the world. To the outside world, he was seemingly the man who had
everything – money, prestige, good looks, charisma – a man who could have any
woman he desired. But the only woman he’d ever truly coveted was forbidden to
him for far too many reasons to count – her youth, her employment within his
company, and especially her commitment to another man.
Tessa
Lockwood’s young life has been one of deprivation, misfortune, and
heartbreaking loss. Working for the Gregson Hotel Group offers up a glimpse
into a world she had never before imagined – one of affluence, sophistication,
and splendor. And meeting the suave, elegant Ian Gregson for the very first
time awakens feelings in her that she struggles to repress, never imagining
that a man like him could find a nobody like her attractive.
Ian
and Tessa fight their feelings for the other, knowing that a relationship
between them can never exist. But when matters of the heart are involved,
things are never quite that simple. How long will both of them be able to hold
on before betraying their forbidden attraction to each other? Or will they be
destined to remain forever apart?

Shut the front door. I
got what I was wanting and so much more. Now, I know for certain that
I need to get a hold of the original Splendor.
I have to see the beginning of what made this story so hot that it had to have
a prequel. Not one prequel but two with a third in the works. Janet
Nissenson makes it plain in her disclaimers that this story is more
of an expanded version of the original book. She felt these two had a much
bigger story to share. I have to agree with her. This is certainly
turning into a grand love affair.
Tess just completely
blossoms within the pages. She comes to life in more ways than one and she
makes the most of every opportunity she was given with Ian. Ian was perfect gentleman and
the perfect alpha when the need arose when it came to Tess. The
heat they shared was able to set the heat index up a few notches. With
each tap of the screen for the new page I became more and more needy for what
was coming next.
There was so much beauty
within the pages of the second. It carried on with the direction of the first.
Opening up new avenues for Tess and Ian. Watching the way that Tessa blooms
just makes for a sweeter read. Ian cherishes this woman and makes it known to
her that she was the one he wanted. There was rich depth and an intensity
that made for a more central focus. There were heartwarming moments that
make the bond deeper and more.
