The Bad Boys of Destiny are back and this rugged Alpha is in for the surprise of his life when he comes back to town.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of Betting the Bad Boy . . .
Duke got the raw end of the stick for doing the right thing years ago. Now, back in town because of his aunt's condition, he has to confront a past that not so easily can be forgotten. He has changed his life and put it in a brighter direction. Revisiting the past was not part of his plan. At least not until he ran into one Grace Truman and her son or should he say their son.

I found some standup moments in this read that let you know just how raw a deal Duke and his brothers got. They were out for the right thing while others in the community misused the power they had to do more harm than good. Ten years of penance and three years staying far away. This man has lost thirteen years of life with the one woman he loved and the experience of fatherhood from the beginning.

The connection between this book and the first was consistent and keep me going forward. I was a bit apprehensive with them running concurrent with each other. With some small differences. I could respect the relationship between Duke and Grace, but I had issue with the way Duke would reference his own son. I loved how it was easier for Colt (even Zanna) and Levi to relate to Ryder. Duke had a lot to catch up on and to understand about what Grace had to deal with. She was doing what she thought was best. That is usually how we get into trouble.

I am eagerly waiting for levi’s and Shelly’s that one I knew was coming from book one of this series. Looking forward to see how it all unfolds.

BLURB
Ten years ago, Duke King knew that getting involved with Grace Truman would only bring trouble into his already hard life. After all, the son of the town drunk has no business falling for the judge’s daughter…a passion that led to disaster and ended with Duke serving a ten year prison sentence. Duke never wanted to return to Destiny, especially now that he’s built a multimillion dollar custom car empire with his brothers. But when his sick aunt calls him home, he must face his past and discover a secret that instantly changes his life.

Grace never thought she would see Duke again, especially after years of silence. But when Duke comes storming back into her life, looking hotter than ever, and determined to get to know the son he never knew he had, she realizes that maybe she’d been wrong about him so many years ago. So Grace decides to make Duke a bet. If he can stay in the house with them for the next thirty days and prove he’ll be a good father, she’ll agree to letting him be part of his son’s life. If not, he’d better be prepared for a fight.

Going from single guy to family man isn’t going to be easy for Duke, especially with the still sexy, now fiery, Grace clouding his every thought. Can Duke be the man he never thought he could be or will his old bad boy ways be too much to conquer?
